HISTORY AND COMMUNITY
Constructed after 1926 and redesigned in 1950, 411 Kellogg Avenue was originally built as the first Fareway store in Ames. By 1950, the building was remodeled into Fastco Drug, one of Ames’ first self-service drug stores, and later housed a variety of community-serving businesses over the decades. Today, the property continues that legacy under the ownership of OEI and is home to Piece & Freedom Bakery's commercial kitchen.
